MC's commitment to sustainability brings eight hundred copies of Cartagena cypress to schoolchildren in La Aljorra (25/04/2018)

The councilors of the training Cartagena have attended this morning to an event with students of CEIP Aljorra to deliver the trees and raise awareness of the need for environmental care

This morning, the councilors of MC, Ricardo Segado, María José Soler and Francisco Calderón, have attended La Aljorra to deliver to schoolchildren and neighbors of the council of eight hundred copies of Tetraclinis Articulata, popularly known as Cartagena cypress, to continue with the reforestation of the mountains of the municipality.

During the event, which took place at CEIP Aljorra and is part of the activities that are being carried out on the occasion of the Second Week of Health and Environment, which has been taking place since last Monday until Friday, the ediles have been accompanied by members and collaborators of MC, as well as by members of associations that cooperate in this task such as Columbares and CreeCT.

Education and training in values for the youngest

Thus, the importance of this type of actions for the future of Cartagena and sustainability has been explained to young people, while they have detailed the steps they must take to plant and care for these trees.

For this task they will have the collaboration of their teachers and parents, as well as that of the rest of the neighbors who have also participated in this initiative.

In this sense, Segado has ensured that "it is essential to educate and educate the youngest in values to preserve the environment."

Implication of MC

In this regard, Ricardo Segado recalled that "from MC we continue demonstrating the commitment acquired with the environment and sustainability within our environment: Cartagena, its field, its neighborhoods and councils."

This commitment, initiated by the Mayor's Office by José López, contrasts with the passivity of the other formations and will manage to plant about a thousand trees in the surroundings of Monte del Pericón, which will be added to other initiatives already carried out by MC such as the repopulation of hundreds of native species in the hillside of the Castle of the Moors or the cleaning of waste and garbage that is made annually in our mountains.
