The mayor welcomes the winners of the Route of the Fortresses, Ramon Navarro and Veronica Bugliot (17/04/2018)

The two Cartagena winners of the IX edition of the Route of the Fortresses, Ramón Navarro and Verónica Bugliot, have been received at the Palace Hall by the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón.

With this visit, Castejón has wanted to publicly acknowledge the effort and work of these two Cartagena athletes.

To the female winner of the race, Veronica Bugliot (an adoption Cartagena), Castejón has addressed herself to express her admiration, "as a woman I am very proud of your victory.

You are an example to follow for all the women of the municipality, for your tenacity and effort ".

The mayor has also addressed a word of pride to the male winner, Ramón Navarro, "I'm from Pozo Estrecho and I get the beautiful point of view as a galileo wins the Route of The Fortresses.

I was following the test, and I lived your exciting arrival to goal. "

The mayor of Cartagena, in this reception, has commented to the winners who have left the bar very high, since this edition has been of a greater hardness than in other occasions because of the change of route, and it has wished them that they continue facing more routes to continue making history.

The winners have also taken advantage of the reception to offer their impressions about the race and about their victories.

The runner Veronica Bugliot has stated that she did not expect to win the Route of the Fortresses, but that is the recognition that every athlete expects to work and the effort made "I left quiet, with no goal of winning and it was the Route that gave me this present".

The winner was not the first time he participated, the first time he ran in 7 hours, but already last year he was in a prominent position to get second.

For his part, the brand new male winner, Ramón Navarro, has also commented that not the first time he ran the route, since in previous editions he had achieved a sixth and a third place, but in this edition he wanted to give everything, although he started the test calm and at your pace.

"The hardness of the route is done by the kilometers, I left calm, at my pace, and it was at kilometer 40 when the others were falling," said Navarro.
