The elderly of Cartagena learn solutions for their well-being at the headquarters of the UNED (17/04/2018)

The headquarters in Cartagena of the National University of Distance Education (UNED) has been the scene today April 17 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the 11th Training Session of Senior Management Boards on solutions for their wellbeing .

The day, organized by the Federation of Associations and Centers for the Elderly (FCM) and the City of Cartagena through the Department of Social Services, has been opened by the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón;

who has been accompanied by the president of the FCM, María Beteta.

The mayor of Cartagena has taken advantage of his assistance to recognize the great work that is being done from the federation and to thank the effervescence in which are always the clubs of elders.

He also reported that the professionals who are going to give the talks come to complete a program that will teach the elderly how to take care of themselves and continue with "that vitality and strength" at this stage of their lives.

In addition, he took the opportunity to remember that Cartagena is one of the few municipalities in the region that has a federation of senior clubs, and noted that although each club does its own activities, it is important that they act at a "global" level.

After the introduction, the first presentation "Do we know what we can eat?" Followed by "Polypharmacy in the older ages, at least more: proposing alternatives" and "Aging, a personal challenge", which have been carried out carried out with the collaboration of professionals from the public health service.
