The expansion works of the Ben Arabí de Cartagena Institute have already been executed at 60 percent and will end next May (07/04/2018)

The works have a budget of 291,000 euros and is scheduled to end in May

The Autonomous Community extends the Ben Arabí de Cartagena institute with a new building that is 60 percent executed and that will benefit the 833 students enrolled in the center.

The general director of Educational Centers, Remedios Lajara, stressed that the actions that are carried out in this institute will allow to remove the two prefabricated classrooms installed in it.

"We comply with another of our main objectives, which is to progressively eliminate these types of classrooms in the Region," he said.

The actions that are being carried out in the institute consist of the construction of a new building composed of four spacious classrooms, toilets accessible to people with disabilities and a landscaped courtyard in the center of the construction that will serve to provide lighting and ventilation to the distribution corridor. inside.

The foundation and structure, already completed, would allow a possible future extension in the height of this new building, since, both in the distribution and in the calculation of the structure, you can have two floors above ground.

The works began in December and are scheduled to end next May.

The actions have a total budget of 291,571 euros.

Remedios Lajara stressed "the commitment of the regional government to continue improving infrastructure in Cartagena to enhance educational quality in the municipality."
