MC: "The negligence of the socialist government strengthens the will of MC to promote a system of self-management of the Holy Week chairs" (02/04/2018)

Today, the general secretary of MC Cartagena, José López, accompanied by the president and the vice-president of the cartagenerista formation, Jesús Giménez and Isabel García, have held a working meeting with the president and the secretary of the Association of Hoteliers of Cartagena y Comarca (HOSTECAR), Juan José López, and Rafael Candel, respectively.

The central theme of the meeting was the need to reach a negotiated solution between the innkeepers and those responsible for the brotherhoods so that "the City Council allows a direct and optimal management of the Holy Week chairs".

With this conclusion, Isabel García has referred to the content of the meeting and to the extent that it intends to "isolate this service from the demonstrated improvisations and political disabilities that we have witnessed in recent days, as well as improving the image of our courtships and better assistance to users, with initiatives such as early sale and electronic, "he argued.

García has contextualized the situation by adding that the proposal was channeled during the Mayor's Office of José López, and more concretely after the end of Holy Week 2017, when the last contract expired.

At that time, the first mayor, representatives of the four brotherhoods, specialized companies and economists, addressed the benefits of self-management, which would result in a maximization of revenue and the optimization of the service.

MC Cartagena has collected the impressions of the association, stating its willingness to study the formulas to seek a majority consensus through its debate in the municipal Plenary.

If this option is crystallized, the Cartagena-based training understands that "the professionalism provided by HOSTECAR will be guaranteed, improving the economic performance of the service for the benefit of the cartageneras brotherhoods", the mayor of MC has argued.

"The experience during Holy Week has been the definitive sign of the generalized improvisation of the socialist government, product of an inability that comes out very expensive", lamented Isabel García, who has censored "the null investment in tourism promotion as opposed to the increase in the advertising expenses for Mayor's Office, that is, the money of the people of Cartagena to multiply the photos of Castejón, subtracting the external projection of the municipality ".

A new fudge

In relation to the process of bidding for the Holy Week chairs, Garcia recalled the lateness of a management "which is another collateral damage to the situation of chaos that Castejón took to the City Council after the breach of the government pact."

"A tender that was born flawed, to which only one company was presented and that, two days before starting Holy Week, was untrimmed," he continued.

The delirious situation was solved "with a negotiation in extremis, folding to the interests of a mercantile one, with reduction of canon included, that will be translated in an economic damage for the Board of Brotherhoods." Also harms to the innkeepers, when allowing to install a row in front of their terraces, that is, damage for all. "

The vice-president of MC has listed what happened because of the 'caostejón' effect during Holy Week, "not allowing to buy in advance, projecting an ominous image of organization and limiting the promotion to the mayor herself and her world record of giving To see something positive about all this, at least to her, as to Noelia Arroyo, a spontaneous love for our Holy Week has been born to us that we welcome with joy ".

Finally, Isabel Garcia added that the Socialist Executive has already announced that "they will compensate the brotherhoods, so we will ask in the Plenary where they will take the money and which street they will stop paving. to the innkeepers and the losses that have caused them, that they do not worry, we will give them the solution ".

Increasing concern

In another vein, MC and HOSTECAR have addressed other issues that abound in socialist spontaneity, such as the inaction on the May Crosses festivity, the non-renewal of the licenses of the beach bars, already in the month of April, and the concern regarding the noise ordinance.
