ACCU Cartagena collects the support of the City Council for Chron's patients (20/03/2018)

The mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, held Tuesday a meeting with the vice president of ACCU Murcia and delegate of the Association in Cartagena, Diego Miñarro, and the member of that delegation, José Manuel Martínez, to whom the first mayor has expressed her intention, on behalf of the city council, to support actions that will lead to an improvement in the quality of life of the Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, a meeting that was also attended by the Education Councilor, David Martínez.

According to Miñarro, this "good attitude of the mayor" has translated into his intention to set a meeting schedule to promote the projects included in a motion that, in April of last year, the municipal plenary session unanimously approved.

"Among them, highlights as a priority to have a place only for the association, in which we can develop our activity, attend patients, meet and keep documentation, which gives us some privacy."

On the other hand, Diego Miñarro also spoke about the Open Door project, which involves the coordination of all the parties involved, including the town hall, to, for example, have parking cards and permits, or the use of public restroom networks and in private place.

For José Manuel Martínez, "it is not costly economically, you just have to have the will to work to implement the measures and improve the quality of life of these patients."
