The Californios celebrated their Salve Grande in Santa Maria de Gracia (15/03/2018)

The Cofradía California celebrated on Wednesday, March 14, the traditional Salve Grande in honor of the Virgin of the First Pain, which filled the church of Santa Maria de Gracia of the faithful who did not want to miss the most important liturgical celebration of Lent for the Californios

The mass was presided over by the chaplain of the brotherhood, Rev.

Francisco de Asís Pagán, and was attended by the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón;

the councilor of the Area of ​​Culture, Education and Youth, David Martínez;

and other councilors of the corporation representing the rest of the political groups.

Likewise, there was also the Nazarene Mayor 2018, Mariana Larios;

the crier of Holy Week, Ángel Julio Huertas;

and the Processionist of the Year, Domingo Bastida, as well as the Elder Brothers of the four Passionary Fraternities of Cartagena.

La Salve Grande takes place on Wednesday of the week of Californian events, in the church of Santa María de Gracia.

During the liturgy, which began at 8:30 pm, the Carthagonova Choir, led by Pedro Andrés García, and the organist Iban Huertas, as well as the Sauces Musical Group, which was under the direction of Andrés Pérez, took part.

Both before the celebration and at the end of the celebration, the faithful who wanted them could participate in the cloistered procession that took place inside the church, carrying illuminated hachotes and opening the shroud of the fraternity.

Also, after the liturgical celebration, Ana Belén Castejón and David Martínez went to La Cartuja restaurant, where the guild brotherhood dinner took place, at 10:30 p.m.
