The Palacio de Molina will host the exhibition drawings, affections, the look of Luis Gonzalez-Adalid (12/03/2018)

The Palacio de Molina will host from March 15 to May 20 the exhibition by Luis González-Adalid "the drawings, the affections, the look", which collects, retrospectively, the drawings and works made throughout his extensive trajectory.

The opening of the same will be on Thursday, March 15 at 7:30 pm at the Palacio de Molina.

This exhibition claims the idea that the practice of art can transform our vision and perception of who we are and where we are.

The drawing, the main reference in this exhibition, is shown here as one of the fundamental tools of the artist -of every artist- to treat and understand the world.

The observation and capturing or representation of reality as learning-the drawings-, "their territories", physical and emotional -the affections-, and nature -the astonishment, the gaze- simultaneously appear in a concordant manner.

Human landscapes -destros- and humble landscapes always evocative of a limit feeling, that the author tries to transcend, beyond mere representation, through meticulous processes;

or sublimate, at other times, through a drive and an overflowing gestures.

If something distinguishes this exhibition, this set of works of styles, intentions and procedures so diverse, is its experimental nature, something usual in the engraving workshops and in the world of the edition of graphic work that have meant so much for the artistic personality of Luis Adalid.

With this and with a rigorous and free attitude, he claims, from an unwavering faith in the trade, the need to recover the workshop time, to treat reality without mediations and to look again beyond the screens, in this society of the urgency, the click of immediacy and the overwhelming technologies that both banalize, and that both overlook (Gadamer).

Let us enjoy this extensive exhibition, of those works made with a proven technical skill, of the austere beauty of the drawings tackled with a committed gestuality or the strength of his photographs intervened.

And reopen the look, because not in vain, Luis reminds us, drawing has been, and continues to be, one of the fundamental tools, along with the word and, probably before her, to understand and to explain the world.
