Rhythm and color stood out in the first phase of the Rhythmic Gymnastics School Competition (09/03/2018)

The Municipal Pavilion Wssell de Guimbarda hosted on the afternoon of Thursday the celebration of the first part of the XXXVIII School Competition of Sets in the modality of Rhythmic Sports Gymnastics.

Near 2,500 followers occupied the stands to attend the lesson of seriousness and commitment to their work on the track, the young athletes who participated in the event, representing the 25 educational centers and sports facilities in which rhythmic gymnastics is taught in the Cartagena, with a total of 80 teams.

600 kids and girls aged between 3 and 17 years left their great enthusiasm and enjoy the practice of this sport.

In short, five hours of music, choreography and a pavilion full of light, color, paintings, brightness, rhythm and enjoyment of gymnasts and spectators, with the categories of Chupetas, Prebenjamín and Benjamín with free hands;

Alevín with hands free and hoop;

Child with rope and ball, Junior with clubs - juvenile with rim.

These Municipal Schools are directed by 27 sports monitors specialized in this modality, formed in the quarry of the Cartagena Gymnastics Project.

During the competition there were several exhibitions of the teams of the Rhythmic Club Cartagena and Gymnastics Club San Antón, currently champions of Spain of Group Aesthetic Gymnastics.

The Councilor for Sports, Obdulia Gómez, attended the closing ceremony, with the presentation of trophies and medals.

The competition, which will be held on Thursday 15 a second phase, is organized by the Department of Sports is part of the School Age Sports program, jointly developed by the City of Cartagena and the Directorate General of Physical Activity and Community Sports Autonomous Region.

The main objective of these school competitions is the participation of all the children who come to the municipal schools, to motivate the daily practice and to educate in the positive values ​​that emerge from the competition.
