The auditions of the Regional Contest of Classical Music for Young Performers "Between Strings and Metals", which this year celebrates its twenty-first edition, will begin this Monday, March 12 at the Auditorium of the Conservatory of Music of Cartagena, where the entrance to attend they will be free until full capacity is reached.

Between Strings and Metals, organized by the Department of Youth of the City of Cartagena, will host the performances of 172 young people from the conservatories of Cartagena, Murcia, Lorca, Molina de Segura, Caravaca, San Javier, Cieza, Jumilla and the School of Music Chaplin during the months of March and April.

March 13, I part 4:30 pm, Part II 6:30 pm: Semifinal Piano

March 14, I part 4:30 pm, II part 6:30 pm: Semifinal String

March 15, I part 4:30 pm, Part II 6:30 pm: Semifinal Wind Metal

March 20, 5:00 pm: Semifinal Chamber Music

March 21 and 22, part I 16:30 h, II part 18:30 h: Semifinal Wind Wood

4 April, 6:00 pm: Semifinal and Final Guitar

April 5, 6:00 pm: Final Percussion

9 April, 6:00 pm: Semifinal and Final of Cante Flamenco

April 10, 6:00 pm: Final String

11 April, 18:00 h: Final Wind Metal

April 12, 6:00 pm: Final Chamber Music

April 16, 6:00 pm: Final Wind Wood

April 17, 6:00 PM: Final Piano

The closing of the contest will take place on May 4 at 8 pm in the El Batel auditorium, and admission will be free until the capacity is complete.

There will be announced the jury's decision of all the modalities of the contest.

Attendees can enjoy the performance of the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena, and the soloists Ángel Rodríguez (marimba) and Mª Carmen Portela (soprano), both winners of the last edition of between strings and brass.

The Gala will also perform works from the repertoire of the honored composers of the Entre Cuerdas y Metals contest: Granados from last year and Debussy from this year, from the pianists Víctor Amaya (I prize from the last edition) and Cristina Sánchez (I prize from the XV edition in the year 2012);

and the special participation of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Cartagena.

Finally, the Symphony Orchestra of the Conservatory of Music of Cartagena, will put the finishing touch to this act of closure.
