The Círculo Podemos Cartagena wants to express its unconditional support for the Feminist Strike on Thursday, March 8, in all its areas of work, care, consumption and student.

We understand this mobilization is very necessary as a form of real empowerment of women, we want to remember that we are half of the population, that if we stop, the world stops.

We suffer social machismo, in the form of harassment at work and outside of it.

We work "free" 54 days a year because of the wage gap between men and women.

We continue to carry the burden of care in the family, being we who mostly care for children, elderly and dependent.

We want to create awareness in the products that we consume in the manufacture of which so many women are immersed in countries as far away as Indonesia, and who carry out their work in a situation of slavery, especially in the large textile and footwear industries.

And, of course, our support to the students, who fill the Universities and who are forced to work less well paid and to precarious work, many of them, despite their qualifications, just for the fact of being women.

We support the Strike, and encourage its follow-up;

but not only do we want it to be a day of protest so that everything remains the same.

We want that from the following day, the 9 of March, begin to promote changes that take to a true real equality of the women.

We want to thank the compañeras of Paro Internacional de Mujeres for their informative work in this Circle last Monday in the Espacio de Debate Alfonso Lorente Esteban;

as well as all the associations and collectives that have called this strike to which we want a historic impact.
