The City Council will provide work for ten young people in English-speaking European countries (05/03/2018)

The City of Cartagena sets up a program to facilitate the search for work, aware of the difficulty of finding employment, especially among young people.

Thanks to the EXPEURA Program, ten young people from the municipality of Cartagena will have a 3-month work contract in English-speaking European countries.

The Councilor for Culture, Education and Youth, David Martínez, offered this Monday, March 5, all the details of the EXPEURA Program, which young people can choose from the Youth Guarantee system.

The mayor has said that, in the City Council is aware of the high unemployment rate, the highest in Europe, which exists in Spain.

This is the main reason why they have invested 16,335 euros to pay for this program that will give the months of May, June and July to ten young people of the municipality in English-speaking European countries, which will allow them to have work experience and improve their English.

The deadline to apply to join EXPEURA opens today, March 5 and end on the 26 of this month.

The bases are available on the website of the City of Cartagena.

About the work that the boys will perform, Martínez explained that on this occasion the sector chosen was the hotelier, in all its areas.

The young people selected will have a work contract with an economic remuneration of between 1,200 and 1,500 pounds, depending on the category of the position.

From the salary will be deducted between 20 and 60 pounds in concept of accommodation and maintenance, which will be in the hotel where the working day is developed, which will be between 30 and 40 hours per week.

The mayor of Youth has stressed that the program has three main objectives, "promote the personal and professional development of young people, promote their access to the labor market and promote their access to the world of work, and finally, develop their language skills."

In addition, the children will have an English tutor in this experience, which will facilitate the learning of the language.

Once back they will have advice and guidance to find employment with their new capabilities.

Cartagena is a pioneer in the Murcia region, establishing the program EXPEURA, a program that is only developed in Castilla León.
