NAVANTIA receives the Mateo Vodopich award for its collaboration with the Industrial School of the Polytechnic University (02/03/2018)

The Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineering (ETSII) of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) has awarded the NAVANTIA company the Mateo Vodopich prize for its commitment to the collaboration and training of students and graduates.

This is the highest recognition granted by the School of Industrial Engineering and will be delivered to the Director of the Shipyard, Agustín Álvarez, this Friday, March 2, at the academic graduation ceremony that will take place in the Auditorium of the School.

When deciding to award the award, the management of ETSII has taken into account that NAVANTIA "has collaborated with the offer of internships for our students, has incorporated to its staff several of our graduates and, in addition, is one of the companies that is betting decidedly for its close collaboration with the Industrial School and with the UPCT in general, as evidenced, for example, in addition to other diverse activities, the recent creation of the Chair NAVANTIA-UPCT ".

The Director of the Shipyard, Agustín Álvarez, has collected the award and has been very grateful for his concession, since he confirms that the collaboration between NAVANTIA and the UPCT is in very good health, which can be seen in the organized events jointly.

One of these has taken place, precisely, during the morning of today.

The chair, in collaboration with the School of Naval and Oceanic Engineering, has organized a course on Underwater Technologies, which aims to familiarize UPCT students with the concept of submarine and its engineering.

The course consists of 7 informative lectures, given by experts from the Navantia staff.

The talks began today, March 2, and will end on May 4.

The inauguration of this course was given by the Director of the Shipyard, Agustín Alvarez, and the Vice-Rector for Innovation and Enterprise, Alejandro Pastor, followed by the first of the talks of the course: "Submarines: Overview of the submarine concept" , by Mauricio Alvarez, responsible for Development of Suppliers and Purchasing Processes of Navantia.
