Cartagena will host next Sunday, February 25, the V Urban Solidarity Mile La Huertecica with the objective of raising funds for the association La Huertecica and consisting of a mile (1,609 meters), although the distances of this test will vary by category.

Today, February 23, the race has more than 700 registered, although the organization expects several runners to sign up at the last minute.

This race, in which the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena collaborates, continues to accept the registrations of runners who have not yet signed up on the website of La Huertecica or at the ecological supermarket Vidanatura (Juan Fernández street in front of Club de Cabos) .

The price of registration is 2 euros for those born between 2005 and 2018 (7 euros with the shirt of the Mile), and 5 euros for the other categories (10 euros with the official shirt of the Mile).

The bibs collection will take place at the Wssell Pavilion in Guimbarda on Friday, February 23 from 5 to 9 pm and on Saturday, February 24 from 10 to 14 and from 5 to 9 pm.

The youngest and youngest will run a distance of a quarter of a mile;

the fry and children will run half a mile;

and the rest of the categories will make the full mile.

The start for all participants will be from the Wssell pavilion in Guimbarda, and the race will be held all along the street.

At the end of the tests, the participants will have a refreshment of bars, fruit, juices and water.

Also, the event has medical services for the correct course of the tests and showers and changing rooms in the Central Pavilion.

The Local Police of Cartagena has advised the drivers to foresee the displacements around the area since there will be traffic cuts, as well as looking for alternative routes to Alameda de San Antón and Ronda Ciudad de La Unión.

The nearest parking is located in the Cénit Shopping Center.

AWARDS

The person in charge of delivering the trophies will be the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón.

All participants will receive a bag from the runner with everything necessary for the test.

In addition, the pre-youngest and youngest categories will receive a medal once the race is completed.

In the rest of the categories, the first three classified will receive a trophy.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

In addition to the race, those who wish may participate in other activities organized by La Huerteceica with the collaboration of several organizations and groups.

At 11:30 there will be a demonstration of solidarity zumba in which you can participate with the purchase of a charity bib for two euros.

There will also be children's workshops and games by the Scout Group La Milagrosa;

skating by the Patinenfila Cartagena Club, with two demonstrations between the races;

badminton with open demonstrations, organized by the Cartagena Badminton Club;

and paint and balloon twisting by the Halona collective.

All these activities will take place in the Parque de los Juncos.
