The Patio of the Faculty of Business Sciences will host the concert + Q Musas Fest, Music for Equality (21/02/2018)

The Patio of the Faculty of Business Sciences, former CIM, will be the scene of the concert + Q Musas Fest, Music for Equality, on March 10, in which the entrance will be free until full capacity and will act Vinila Von Bismark , La Otra and the Locas del Co. and Women Beat DJ's.

The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, attended the presentation of the concert;

the Rector of the UPCT, Alejandro Díaz Morcillo;

the rural area director of Caja Rural, Javier Fabregat;

and Mamen García, from Women Beat DJ's.

The mayor has indicated that the name of this concert "is not fortuitous," as it claims "that women are much more than a muse" and has said that "we have always remained on the margins of history."

Likewise, he pointed out that the RAE does not contemplate the word genia or muso, and that it is necessary "to deconstruct that imaginary that women are muses and geniuses are men".

The objective of the event is, according to the first mayor, "to make that act of effervescence and outburst" to launch a "call to the muses who never recognized that they are geniuses".

The mayor said that "art is the artist that will accompany us", and that Vinila Von Bismark is "above all, an attitude, an iconic presence" that "thanks to her attitude has established itself as the Spanish queen of burlesque. "

With regard to La Otra and the Locas del Co, he has stated that it is a band made up of women in which ironic, very critical, but also intimate and personal lyrics stand out ".

Mamen García thanked the City Council for having counted on the artists who will participate in the concert and pointed out that women still have a lot to say in the music industry.

The organization of the concert has been carried out by the City of Cartagena through the Department of Equality and the UPCT, with the sponsorship of Caja Rural Central.

Javier Fabregat has indicated that Caja Rural has always been an "entity attached to the people" and that this is the first step "of many collaborations" with the city and the town hall.

For his part, Alejandro Díaz stressed the importance of supporting this "cultural activity with social transformation" and pointed out that the Patio of the Faculty of Business Sciences "is the appropriate environment and a phenomenal framework for the development of this subject that we care very much ", as well as" eliminate the gender gap ", he concluded.
