Cs requires Castejón to clarify the doubts about the cleaning service and convene an extraordinary Spokesperson Board (06/02/2018)

- According to the spokesman of Cs Cartagena, Manuel Padín, "the board of directors of yesterday has not served to clear a good part of the doubts that this Group has regarding the breaches of the contract, and we do not know which is the road map that the local government has been marked to improve the service and update it to the new needs of the municipality "

- "We have said that it is necessary to carry out an exhaustive control to the concessionaires and to inspect every euro of the 36 million annual that this service currently costs to the Cartagena and we believe that the Observatory of Contracting is the right place to do it", has indicated the orange formation spokesman

The Municipal Group of Citizens has called through a motion to the mayor of Cartagena to convene as soon as possible an extraordinary Spokespeople Board to clarify all the shadows that exist in relation to the cleaning contract, the second most important contract that the City Council has with a dealership.

In addition, orange training considers it necessary to set up as soon as possible the Recruitment Observatory to deal with this matter, an agreement promoted by CTSSP in the December plenary session and which was supported by the Citizens Group, and the rest of the formations except the Partido Popular who voted against.

According to the spokesman of Cs Cartagena, Manuel Padín, "the board of directors of yesterday has not served to clear much of the doubts that this Group has regarding the breaches of the contract, and we do not know which is the roadmap that is has marked the local government to improve the service and update it to the new needs of the municipality ".

"We do not really know anything, the note issued by the City Council has left us in the dark because it has focused only on selling a cleanup shock plan that should have been made since the beginning of the legislature more than two and a half years ago," Manuel Padín has indicated.

"We do not know what the City Council is going to do to cover the cleaning service in the coastal areas, nor do we know if the local government plans to open a sanction file to the company for the alleged breach of contract or unjustified billings, nor what happens with the alleged attacks against the environment or if you plan to carry out the relevant procedures to recover unrealized investments, "said the local spokesman for Cs.

According to the spokesperson for Citizens, "we must ask ourselves how we have arrived at this situation, why it has been allowed for so many years, with other governments, to have an important service in such bad conditions".

"We have said that it is necessary to carry out an exhaustive control to the concessionaires and to inspect every euro of the 36 million annual that this service costs to the Cartagena people and we believe that the Observatory of the Contracting is the right place to do it", has indicated the orange training spokesperson.

Cost of service and rates

Citizens also regrets that the mayor of Cartagena has not yet clarified whether the fees paid by citizens and companies for garbage is adjusted to the actual cost of the service.

As published in the newspaper La Verdad, Cartagena has not provided this information to the Ministry of Finance and Public Function, despite the fact that it is their obligation, and that the Federation of Municipalities of the Region has recently asked mayors to guarantee the balance between income and costs.
