The Carnival of Cartagena chooses its Queens this weekend (02/02/2018)

Carnavalero weekend that will be lived in Cartagena from Friday night until Sunday with humor, music, dance, colors and sequins.

The great program of activities, which this year has been developed by the Carnival Federation with the support of the City of Cartagena, will show that the celebration can become a Festival of National Tourist Interest.

The three days will have as primary acts the election of the Infantile Queen and her Ladies;

the gala of choice of the Queen, next to the Proclamation, and the Choreographic Groups contest;

the Regional Contest of Choreographic Groups.

On Friday, February 2, the Central Sports Pavilion Wssell de Guimbarda will host the Gala of the Infant Queen and her Ladies, starting at 9:00 p.m.

Six candidates who choose to proclaim themselves Queen: Luna García, from the Ipanema troupe;

Raquel Carceles, from Superduendes;

Ainhoa ​​Gutierrez, from Salguero;

Irene Guerrero, from Gnomes;

Lucia Cano, from Fantasía a Color;

and Lucía Gil, from Fantasía de La Aljorra.

All of them will be presented at the start of the gala.

Later, in the same event, the children's choreography groups will perform.

As a novelty this year, Don Carnal and Doña Cuaresma have their children's version, which will be given birth by Natalia Pérez and Pablo Acosta (from the comparsa Ipanema Baby), both will perform a musical show.

Another new addition, to this gala, is the representation of a children's show, in which, among others, zancudos will participate.

The gala will end with the election of the children's queen and her ladies.

The entrance of this event is two euros.

On Saturday, February 3, in this same space, the Grand Carnival Gala will take place in which the Proclamation will be given, which will be presented by Kiko Hernández, from the television program Sálvame, and Sandra Bruman.

In this event the Queen of Carnival this year will also be chosen, to which nine candidates are presented: Jessica Pérez, from the comparsa Ipanema;

Silvia Soriano, from Superduendes;

Rosana Yepes, from Aradia;

Mari Tere Blaya, from Imagine;

Josefina Mante, from Salgueiro;

Salomé Casanova, from Aradia;

Nerea García, from Ipanema;

Rocio Fausto, from Baracay;

and Miriam Campillo, from Salgueiro.

Four choreographic groups: Flash of Yecla, Titanán, Paraiso and Renacer, the last three of Cartagena.

The point of humor will be the performance of the Chochonis, winners of the contest of chirigotas of 2017 and also the dialogue between Don Carnal and Doña Cuaresma, who are given life by Miguel Ángel Lorente and África Hernández.

The act will start at 9:00 pm and will cost three euros.

This festive weekend will culminate on Sunday, February 4, when the Baile del Vermut will take place at 12:30 in the Plaza de San Francisco, where the 'High Tension' Cartagena group will perform.

Already at 18:30 the Regional Contest of Child and Adult Choreography will begin. The entrance fee for these two events is three euros.

The children's category will compete at 18:00 and the adult will be at 21:00.

Tickets for the Adult Choreography Contest are already sold out.
