Itinere returns, a day to improve the employability of young Cartagena (25/01/2018)

The Department of Youth of the City of Cartagena has organized a new edition of the Journey Itinere in the Auditorium and Conference Center El Batel, which will take place on Thursday, February 22, and will run throughout the day, in time of 9: 00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, and the mayor of the area of ​​Culture, Education and Youth, David Martínez Noguera, appeared this morning to present this day, which is conceived as a day of dynamism aimed at preventing inactivity and unemployment youth approaching young people to the business and employment reality of the region.

This will be carried out through an innovative, inclusive and attractive programming, which will provide them with the information of the different resources and motivate the Cartagena people towards an active job search, said Castejón.

The mayor has reported that currently, there are 5,420 Cartagena, aged between 16 and 30 years, who neither study nor work and who have applied to enroll in the Youth Guarantee Plan to improve their employability and gain access to a good position of work or a good training offer.

He also added that during 2017 there were 3,213 young people from the municipality who decided to register.

In this period of time, 800 beneficiaries of Youth Guarantee have been assigned to carry out their itinerary in the Local Employment Center of the Youth Council, explained the councilor.

Following this line, a series of activities have been planned, such as: information points and resources, workshops to work on competencies and skills, informative pills on various topics related to employment, courses for obtaining professional cards and informal meetings with businessmen and managers. HR

The assistants will have the presence of the Armed Forces that will make known the military profession and its entry modalities in troops and sailors and officers and non-commissioned officers in their military academies.

Participants can also attend demonstrations of robotics, 3D printing, use of drones, and development of video games and virtual reality, which will be carried out by technology companies created by other young entrepreneurs who will tell their experience

The recipients of the day are young people under 30 enrolled in the National Youth Guarantee System, an initiative financed by the European Social Fund;

graduates, students, unemployed and also professionals who work with young people such as;

teachers, educators and counselors, as reported by Castejón.

Along with the Youth Council are added other municipal services such as the Agency for Local Development and Employment and the Popular University.

Different entities and organizations that work with young people also collaborate, such as the Regional Employment and Training Service, the General Directorate of Youth, the General Directorate of Education, the Institute for Development of the Region of Murcia, the CEEIC, different training centers professional, secondary schools, universities with presence in our city, and companies from different sectors of the region.

For the inaugural session, the organization has had the experience of the coach and blogger Víctor Candel, a professional specialized in guidance for job search through social networks, and in the closing ceremony with the monologist Chema Ruiz of the Paramount Comedy Channel Spain that will reflect, with humor as a tool, on how to be more positive and lose insecurities to gain motivation and achieve goals.

The mayor of Youth has added that this year has chosen the El Batel auditorium for the first time as a stage because last year was a success and "fell short" and has shown his desire to reach this year more young people with a day with more activities.

In short, a day full of experiences aimed at "supporting our young people to achieve their goals," stressed the councilor.
