Castejon structures the new municipal government in six areas (09/01/2018)

The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, has announced the structure of the new municipal government of Cartagena that will revolve around six areas, at the head of which will be the six socialist editors of the Corporation, after giving yesterday afternoon for broken the government pact with the councilors of MC Cartagena.

In this way the current first deputy mayor, Juan Pedro Torralba, will be responsible for the Municipal Services, Citizen Participation and Celebrations, which includes the Decentralization, Coastal, Infrastructures and Celebrations delegations.

Francisco Aznar, second deputy mayor, will head the Sustainable Development and Public Function Area, which includes Interior, Security, Transparency and Urban Planning.

Carmen Martín del Amor will be responsible for the Economic Strategy Area, which includes Finance, Trade and Tourism.

Obdulia Gómez will assume the Area of ​​Quality of Life and Wellbeing, which includes Consumption, Health, Environment, Agriculture, Rural Development, Fishing and Sports, which for the first time assumes a woman in the City of Cartagena.

For his part, David Martínez Noguera will head the Education, Culture and Youth Area, which includes Archaeological Heritage.

Finally, the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, will assume the Social Services and Equality Area, which will depend on the Mayor's Office.

CONSENSUS AND DIALOGUE

The mayor wanted to transmit peace of mind to the people of Cartagena, assuring that, after this change of government, "nothing is going to change".

"As Deputy Mayor, I worked tirelessly to bring forward great issues of this council that fortunately came forward and as mayor in these months that I have done and I will continue doing," he said.

Castejón has assured that he will seek at all times the consensus and collaboration with the rest of the municipal groups so that the City Council will not stop and has expressed his thanks and confidence in the municipal officials to take forward this difficult challenge of governing in a minority.

"Today is an exciting stage for the Government of Cartagena and for all citizens," said the councilor, who explained that he should continue to "culminate and profile" the characteristics of the new municipal government to "not take any false step "
