The regional government stresses that the budgets "give impetus to social policies in Cartagena" (30/11/2017)

Andrés Carrillo says that "the regional government has prepared these budgets thinking of consolidating economic growth and increase the areas related to social welfare"

Among the projects that will be promoted in Cartagena next year, include the School of Architecture of the UPCT, the Logistics Activities Zone, the Central Cinema or the Children's House

The Minister of Finance and Public Administration, Andrés Carrillo, delivered today to the president of the Regional Assembly, Rosa Peñalver, the draft Budget Law of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia for 2018, to begin processing in the autonomous parliament.

Carrillo recalled the main axes of the budget project approved by the Governing Council yesterday, "with a strong investment in social policy, since 80 percent goes to health, education and social services and with a commitment to consolidate economic growth and the creation of quality employment. "

The head of Finance noted that "there has been a significant increase for Cartagena in all the games."

Specifically, he pointed out that during the next financial year 15 million will be allocated to social policy actions, such as care for the elderly and disabled through day centers and home help, and the financing of social services for primary care of the elderly. municipality.

"The IMAS budget grows twice as much as the regional budget year after year, and we are the second region that more agilely manages the unit," said Carrillo.

"This year we will allocate 8 percent more to social policies and 4.4 percent more in education."

Likewise, the education budget has increased by 9 million euros in Cartagena, in order to improve the quality of education with actions to reduce early school leaving and the promotion of Vocational Training.

"We have to build an agile FP that adapts to the sectors and regions where it develops, and in that Cartagena is an example with three integrated vocational training centers that link training with employment."

Carrillo said that one of the most important projects for Cartagena next year is the construction of the School of Architecture of the Polytechnic University, which will be allocated 2 million euros.

In the area of ​​Health, the increase will be 18 million, among which highlights the departure of 2.8 million to enhance the care activity of the Hospital del Rosell and 1.4 million euros for the construction of the San Antón Health Center .

The regional government also supports the culture in the municipality and will allocate 1.5 million euros to the Foundation of the Roman Theater, 250,000 euros to the rehabilitation of the Central Cinema and another 300,000 for the Children's House.

Infrastructures and Mar Menor

The Minister of Finance stressed that "all the ministries grow in their budget in Cartagena."

In this sense, he also pointed out the investment in infrastructure that includes 3.2 million for actions such as the La Manga 365 strategy, the Logistics Activities Zone or the Los Belones highway.

Also, 21 million are allocated for protection and conservation of the Mar Menor in the municipality of Cartagena, an area with "the regional government is especially committed."

Two million euros are also contemplated for the construction of a storm tank in Mar de Cristal and another one in Playa Honda, as well as 5 million euros for the maintenance of the sanitation network.

Processing of budgets

Once the draft of the Budget Law of the Community for 2018 in the Regional Assembly is presented, its processing begins "so that it can be approved before the end of the year and that the suppression of the Inheritance and Donations Tax becomes a reality on January 1. of 2018, as this Executive promised, there are many citizens who want this tax to disappear and we will eliminate it in the shortest possible time, "explained Carrillo.

Beginning tomorrow, the appearances of the councilors begin, at the rate of three per day until next Tuesday.

On Monday 11 will be the debate of amendments to the whole, and on Thursday 14 and Friday 15 that of partial amendments.

Predictably, on December 19, the plenary of the Assembly will vote on the approval of the bill.

The draft Budget Law of the Autonomous Community for 2018 is from this morning on www.carm.es so that any citizen can consult it.
