The City Council will invest more than 80 thousand euros in improvements to roads and lighting in Ciudad Jardin (23/11/2017)

The councilor of the area of ​​Sustainable Development and Transparency, María José Soler, and the mayor of the Quality of Life area, Francisco Calderón, held an informative meeting yesterday with various neighborhood representatives of Ciudad Jardín to inform them, on the ground, of important investments that will be executed in the environment during the next weeks.

Among them the conditioning of roads in the streets Picasso and Valle Inclán, an integral action that will mean a global investment that exceeds 75,000 euros.

The projected will fulfill the conditioning of several road sections in the cited arteries that support an important transit of pedestrians and vehicles.

This, due to the proximity of an educational center, as well as the commercial and sports equipment that they host.

PICASSO STREET

As regards Picasso Street, there will be a performance between Poeta Miguel Hernández and Valle Inclán streets.

The sidewalks will remain the same width, made with terrazzo tile flooring.

It will have a transversal slope of 1% and longitudinal coincident with the existing street.

However, the first step will be the demolition of all the urbanization elements of the steel.

On the other hand, the current sidewalk of Picasso Street, between Poeta Miguel Hernández and Jorge Juan, will be made with hot asphalt agglomerate.

CALLE VALLE INCLÁN

Regarding Valle Inclán street, works have been determined between Picasso and Carmen Conde streets.

Specifically, on the north sidewalk, keeping the current width.

The action will have identical draft and procedure to the one described in Picasso Street, both in the pavement used and in the curb of prefabricated concrete curb.

Also, in the hot asphalt agglomerate used for the sidewalk to be built on Valle Inclán Street, between Carmen Conde and Felix Martín Alpera.

This action is part of the Sustainable Investment Plan of the City Council (ISA Plan).

IMPROVEMENT OF LIGHTING

After checking on the ground the works to be carried out on Picasso and Valle Inclán streets, the councilors of the local government, together with the neighbors, went to the Local Social of Ciudad Jardín.

There, representatives of other groups joined to discuss other measures, in execution or in the process of being.

Among them is the next installation of new points of light on Hazim Street, in the stretch between Admiral Baldasano and Trafalgar.

After the completion of the works, valued at 8,000 euros, the users of the via appointment will have LED technology luminaires, gaining significant significance in the field of efficiency and environmental care.

The distance between the luminaries will be 50 meters.

The mounting height will be seven meters, being the supports used in fiberglass reinforced plastic.

CANINE PARK

Subsequently, Soler and Calderón communicated to the neighbors other investments that result in greater services for residents, such as the adaptation of the Parc de la Rosa plot, a space of some 1,500 square meters, which will host, in the near future, the first park canine of the municipality of Cartagena.

It is a measure formulated by the councilor of the area of ​​Quality of Life in order to provide the municipality with a public space that will be used for the recreation of animals and where pets can exercise accompanied by their owners.

The works contemplate the conditioning of the lands;

the execution of pipelines;

the installation of lighting and irrigation, and the fencing and signaling of the park.

Likewise, gardening work, installation of urban furniture (banks, litter bins, bag dispenser and a source for animals) are undertaken.

Finally, a 'agility' canine game circuit will be installed.

It will be composed of a simple jump fence;

detention table;

palisade;

seesaw for dogs;

slalom;

runway;

jump wheel and tunnel.

PUBLIC MAINTENANCE

To conclude, Soler notified the neighbors of the important number of small actions, since the beginning of the year, regarding the maintenance of public roads in the area.

They affect issues that residents understand as priorities.

The head of Sustainable Development unveiled the remarkable volume of resolutions, estimated at 90%, leaving the rest in the process of execution.

Actions in the field of security;

patchy

lighting;

cleaning;

repainted

paved;

gardening, or children's games.
