Citizens collect the demands of the neighbors of Carlos III and their complaints for the inconvenience generated in the skate track (20/11/2017)

- They request a change of location that is chosen by the skaters themselves and that in its place, a project for the creation of gardens, playground and elderly area, "so necessary in our city," according to neighbors.

- "We are going to study this option that the neighbors propose: the change of location of a track that is in bad conditions, according to its own users, and that requires a deep remodeling could solve two problems, on the one hand we would take advantage of it to adapt it to the standards of security and services that should have this kind of facilities, and on the other hand we would avoid the inconvenience to neighbors who have been living with this problem for seven years, "said the spokesman of Cs Cartagena.

Cartagena, Monday, November 20-.

The Municipal Citizens Group (Cs) has received today in its dependencies a representation of the neighbors of the street Carlos III and surroundings, among which was the president of the Community of Owners of the Santiago II Building, María Dolores Aguilar, who they have recently presented almost 400 signatures to claim the transfer of the skate track.

The neighbors complain that the inconveniences that this installation is generating with the noises of the skateboards, the uproar (music, shouting, ...), dumping of waste, prevents them from doing activities as simple as watching television, studying, or sleeping.

The neighborhood representatives remember that many of the residents are elderly, children and sick people who have the right to peace of mind and that their quality of life does not deteriorate.

In addition, they complain that users do not comply with the proper protection rules, and that they arrive at the track making a lot of noise through the streets that give access to it.

They request a change of location that is chosen by the skaters themselves and that in its place, a project for the creation of gardens, playground and elderly area, "so necessary in our city," according to neighbors.

On the other hand, as the local press has published, the skaters are demanding that this zone of juvenile leisure be conditioned and the track reformed.

Lacks basic services such as toilets, a public source (only for human consumption to avoid inappropriate uses) or sufficient lighting.

In addition, it is surrounded by a steel gate that is not suitable for practicing this type of sport.

According to the neighbors, "the change of location to the outskirts of the city of Cartagena, or, at least, where it does not bother, would allow to combine the requests of the users of the track, like improving the security of the facilities, increasing their services or expand schedules, with the rights and needs of neighbors. "

The spokesman for the orange training in Cartagena, Manuel Padín, is committed to "study the option posed by the neighbors: the change of location of a track that is in poor condition, according to its own users, and that requires a thorough remodeling could solve two problems, on the one hand we would take advantage of it to adapt it to the security standards and services that this kind of facilities should have, and on the other hand we would avoid the inconvenience to neighbors who have been living with this problem for seven years ".

In addition, the neighbors have also submitted a letter in which they ask that the petition filed by CTSSP-Podemos in the plenary session on September 21 not be carried out.

They criticize that this municipal group visited the track without taking into account the opinion of the neighbors, and that they asked for the replacement of a pergola that actually amplified the noise produced by the skaters, or more lighting when for the neighbors it is the right one.
