Born to be blue, at Luzzy's FICCMOTECA (16/11/2017)

Access is free until full capacity is reached |

The Ficcmoteca del Luzzy, in collaboration with the Jazz Festival of Cartagena, is screening this Friday, November 17, at 7:30 p.m., the Canadian film "Born to be Blue", a film that is very much applauded after its participation in the Festival de Toronto cinema.

The film can be seen in the original subtitled version and access is free until the capacity is reached.

"Born to be Blue", directed by Robert Budreau, narrates the life of legendary jazz trumpeter Chet Baker in the 60s. The story focuses on the time when Baker (Ethan Hawke) begins to shoot a film about himself and falls in love with his shooting partner, the enigmatic Jane (Carmen Ejogo).

The troubled past of the musician returns to torment him, to the point that it seems he will never be able to compose again, but Jane challenges him to return to the musical scene against all odds.

Baker, one of the most famous trumpeters in the world during the 50s, was an icon of style and a pioneer in the scene of the time.
