Based on the documentary 'New Girls 24h' by director Mabel Lozano, the hall of the Business School of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) hosts today, 15 of September, the exhibition of the same name.
A sample of 9 photographs with explanatory panels that seeks to denounce the normalization of the prostitution business in our society and explain the reasons that have led to this.
An exhibition organized Cepaim Foundation with the collaboration of the Department of Equality Cartagen City Council.
The opening ceremony was held this morning, with the assistance of the Rector of the UPCT, Alejandro Díaz Morcillo, the Councilor for Equality of the City of Cartagena, David Martínez, and the CEPAIM coordinator in Cartagena, Pedro López, who together with members of the university, the town hall and groups have visited the exhibition at the hand of their curator.
The space hosts a visual and didactic show that wants to emphasize two important aspects such as prevention and awareness, especially among the youngest, about a social, silent and hidden tragedy.
With it, we try to achieve a greater involvement of society for its eradication, which involves its visualization and the reduction of demand for these services.
In addition to this show, within the program for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women organized by the Department of Equality, on Thursday, November 23, the documentary 'New Girls 24h' will be screened with the assistance of its director, with the one that the assistants will be able to chat in a colloquium after the visualization of the documentary.
The event will be held in the Isaac Peral Hall of the Business School of the UPCT at 12:00 hours.
