MC Cartagena will propose new initiatives to continue unmasking the water network (15/11/2017)

During the next municipal plenary session, MC Cartagena will propose to the rest of the groups of the Consistory to approve the constitution of a Research Commission to study the investment works carried out by the concessionaire of the municipal water service, Hidrogea, as well as the costs of the service .

Likewise, we will present another motion for the municipal Plenary to urge the Municipal Legal Department to carry out the judicial proceedings at the criminal court that proceed so that the courts can rule on the modification of the contract made in 2003, which entailed an extension of 25 years - until 2042 -, of the concession of the domiciliary water supply service.

In this sense, the secretary general of MC Cartagena and spokesman for his municipal group, José López, said that "since our formation, we are fully convinced that they are necessary initiatives in the face of the evidence of irregular actions that Customs Surveillance has detected in their inquiries , having been put this information, as is known, available to the investigation of the plot of water known as Operation Pokémon by the area of Sustainable Development of this City Council.

For this reason, López concluded by saying that "MC trusts that all groups adhere to this trip to legality, which should allow the public to know the extra costs and legal irregularities that could hide after the excursions of the councilors of the PP."

It should be remembered that, last week, information in the written press announced that the company concessionary of the municipal water service, before Aquagest, today Hidrogea, paid several 'pleasure trips' to different cities in Spain, Europe and America, to the former mayor of the Popular Party, Pilar Barreiro, as well as four councilors of the PP, Agustín Guillén, María Ángeles Palacios, José Vicente Albaladejo and María Dolores Soler, coinciding in time, according to investigations of Customs Surveillance, a body belonging to the Tax Agency , with decisions taken from the governments of the PP in the City of Cartagena "that have benefited the company Aguagest, now Hidrogea, of the Agbar group, now Suez".
