Demarcation pays tribute to Bob Dylan with a concert by Fernando Rubio (09/11/2017)

The poetic festival Deslinde, organized by the Department of Culture, has scheduled a series of parallel concerts to bring poetry to citizens, also through music.

So, tomorrow, Friday, November 10, Fernando Rubio will offer an acoustic as a tribute to Bob Dylan at the El Cuervo bar on Poeta Miguel Hernández Street.

A highly recommended activity that will be at 23.30 with free admission.

The singer-songwriter Fernando Rubio will bring to the concert some of the themes of the 2016 Nobel Prize for Literature, Bob Dylan, which will be sung in English.

Those attending the concert will be able to follow the songs as they will be provided with the lyrics, both in English and in Spanish, so that they can fully appreciate the poetic richness of the songs that will be heard.

As highlighted by the Councilor for Culture, David Martinez, music has always gone hand in hand with poetry.

"We did not want to miss an opportunity like this one to pay homage to one of the great poets of the 20th and 21st centuries like Bob Dylan and the hand of another singer-songwriter like Fernando Rubio," he said.

FERNANDO RUBIO

The Cartagena Fernando Rubio, composer and singer, was one of the members, on guitar, of the musical group 'Ferroblues'.

For many years he played with them until he decided to start a solo project that has led him to release a record on the street.

Currently, he is finalizing the release of his second CD.

He also accompanies various musicians in his performances, among them the singer and guitarist Joaquín Talismán.

Act occasionally with the Cartagena group Bantastic Fand.

DYLAN, A NOBEL VALUED FOR HIS "POETIC EXPERIENCES"

In an election that in its day was described as "unusual", the Swedish Academy chose a singer to reward him with the highest award of universal letters: The Nobel Prize for Literature.

The musician and singer-songwriter Bod Dylan received the award for his 'poetic experiences' within the American musical tradition.

He valued the production of albums with his songs, as well as his audacity when experimenting with some works, as is the case of 'Tarántula' (1971), and a compilation of his writings and drawings dated from 1973.
