Good weather leads to a large influx of public in the Baroque Market (06/11/2017)

Capes, hats, wigs or necks of lechuguilla were part of the clothing that could be seen this weekend, from November 3 to 5, in the Historic Center of Cartagena, which was moved to the XVII century with the Baroque Market.

The good weather and the stop in the city of several cruises with around 5,000 tourists on board throughout Saturday and Sunday, led to a large influx of public in this initiative, whose theme has been related to the year of the Illustration that is celebrated this 2017.

Cartageneros and visitors enjoyed the street shows and the more than 120 stops of products of all kinds, mainly crafts and gastronomy.

The program, designed for all ages, included theater, parades of soldiers, dances, story-telling, parades of masks, and many more activities by five companies of dance, theater and children's entertainment.

The Baroque Market counted, on the other hand, with the installation of two exhibitions.

One of them a costume sample of the time in the Plaza de San Francisco.

In Cuatro Santos street an exhibition of illustrative plates was installed on the biographies of the main painters and sculptors of the time, such as Caravaggio, Velázquez or Bernini, among others.
