The film Pieles will open the new cycle of the FICCMOTECA on Friday (11/10/2017)

With the screening of the film 'Pieles', director Eduardo Casanova's first feature film, the second quarter of FICCMOTECA starts on Friday, October 13 at 8:00 p.m., which in this edition brings to the Cultural Center Ramón Alonso Luzzy four films of a great cinematographic quality.

'Pieles', which is projected in the original version, is a film that tests the levels of ethical and aesthetic acceptance of the viewer, revealing itself as an extremely transgressive and provocative film.

It tells the story of physically different people who, for this reason, have been forced to hide, to be secluded or to be united among themselves.

Nobody chooses how it is born but the physical appearance conditions us with the society, although we have not chosen it ourselves.

On October 27th, 'The dark side of the heart', directed by Eliseo Subiela, brings us the story of Oliverio, a poet who survives by publishing commercial poetry while touring Buenos Aires with the only desire to find the woman of his dreams.

In Montevideo he meets Ana, a prostitute whom he falls in love with.

The film, which will be screened at 20:00 hours, has the collaboration of the poetry festival 'Deslinde 2017'.

On November 17 at 19:30 hours, will be screened in the original version subtitled 'Born to be blue';

biopic about the legendary jazz trumpeter Chet Baker in the '60s.

The story centers on the time when the musician begins to shoot a film about himself and falls in love with his running mate, the enigmatic Jane.

To conclude, on November 24 at 7:30 pm, 'The Other Side of Hope' shows us in the original subtitled version the story of a young man who arrives hidden in a cargo ship coming from Syria.

Your asylum application is rejected, but you decide to stay.

Your way crosses with the owner of a restaurant that offers you roof, food and work.

The film was awarded the 'Silver Bear' to the best director at the Berlin Film Festival.

All projections are in the auditorium of the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center and are free until the capacity is completed.
