The meeting dealt with the concrete actions that will be carried out starting in autumn, outlining the difficulties posed by the scarcity of rain, which causes some delay in these actions, as explained by the coordinator of Sustainable Development, Jesús Giménez.

Giménez has pointed out that until the end of the year we will work on the Tentegorra Canal walk, which is a hill area under municipal ownership, where the area will be recovered with trees that already existed in that area of the almond tree;

Within the European project of the MAPS where the Moros Castle is being worked in collaboration with CreeCT, in November, the area will be cleaned and the path will be traced, and from there, reforestation will begin. Castle of the Moors, always linked with the recovery of the neighborhood and the development of the European project MAPS.

The general coordinator of Sustainable Development has also explained that the municipal technicians, in collaboration with CreeCT, are assessing in which areas can be carried out reforestation in Castillo de la Atalaya, in addition to the Mesa will have two thousand trees to to carry out an action of reforestation thanks to a contest of the transmitter Europe FM.

Jesús Giménez has emphasized that now "we work with system and method;

now is on the table to develop a reforestation plan to improve the whole environment of the city and our neighborhoods and councils.

GENERATION OF PLANTS

It has also been treated the own production of plants, showing that the City has promoted the construction of a nursery, coming to complement the existing one with ANSE with which an agreement is maintained.

The City Council is going to take a reforestation contract before the end of the year to have more shrubs and, in that sense, we believe that the reforestation of the municipality has already been launched.

START OF WORK

During the work session, Calderón reported on the action carried out last October 8, where, in the framework of the 5th Meeting of Neighbors of La Aljorra, the first action of reforestation was carried out in the municipality.

The areas of Sustainable Development and Quality of Life were involved in the planting of native species to recover the green spaces in this locality of the north of Cartagena.

Until La Aljorra, technicians from both management areas traveled to coordinate an initiative that will also involve the CreeCT association.

TABLE FOR REFORESTATION

The main objective of the Mesa for reforestation is to carry out an approach for the recovery of the vegetation cover of the mountains of Cartagena.

In short, it is an ambitious goal to give back to the mountains its most original heritage, as well as guaranteeing fresh air and enjoying new spaces for recreation.
