Thus, Torralba highlighted, citizens who visit the show "will be able to know the relevance of this area, the natural habitat of the polar bear, the singularity of its flora and the conditions in which its inhabitants live", while encouraging the cartageneros and visitors that pass through the city the next weeks to visit the exhibition.

For his part, CaixaBank Business Area director in Cartagena has assured that he is a pride for him, as zone boss and as an employee and the Caixa, which part of his daily work is destined to performances like this exhibition.

Those who come to the show "will enjoy an educational and awareness program," Garcia said.

"It is going to be a success", has shown convinced, based on the good results of assistance and participation registered in the two traveling exhibitions that la Caixa Obra Social has brought to Cartagena in the past.

And is that, has remarked, both 'H2O' last year as 'Once upon a time the speech', two years ago, exceeded 11,000 visitors each.

Finally, he expressed his gratitude to the City of Cartagena for the support for the implementation of these initiatives and the clients of Cartagena "that make possible with their confidence that we are here every year."

With this exhibition and its "strong" title, highlighted by the curator of the exhibition, Obra Social la Caixa aims to reflect "what is happening in the Arctic," where "a series of changes are occurring increasingly faster, and of which the most visible is the reduction of the amount of ice. "

Although this is just one of the several changes that are taking place, the curator of the exhibition has remarked, while ensuring that "all these changes are going to have consequences at a planetary level."

In this context the exhibition is framed, whose main objectives are to explain the changes that are occurring and what their consequences may be, as well as to make known the Arctic.

An important part of the exhibition, stressed Toni Pou, consists of the hundred photographs of Andoni Canela, who has traveled through Greenland, Alaska, Canada, Svalbard, Iceland, Russia and Lapland and brings us closer to the recent reality of the region arctic

At the same time, he pointed out, 'The Arctic breaks' has audiovisuals explaining what is a northern aurora or the various ice classes, and interactive where, among others, shows how to undo the polar ice caps and it is possible to observe the hair of a polar bear, lichens and carnivorous plants.

In addition, a set of pieces from Nunavut (Canada) and northern Alaska will bring visitors to the life and culture of its inhabitants.

Visitors can listen to an Inuit-yupik tale and Sami music, feeling immersed in the extraordinary Arctic region.

The exhibition, which has material in English and for the blind, can be visited until November 10, from Monday to Friday, from 12.30 to 14.00 and from 17.00 to 21.00.

Saturdays, Sundays and holidays will be open to the public from 10.30 to 14.30 and from 16.30 to 21.00.

AN EXPOSITIVE, EXCLUSIVE AND INNOVATIVE SPACE

For the exhibition of the exhibition The Arctic is broken, the R & D department of the "la Caixa" Welfare Projects has designed a special and innovative space, the UD 100. A system converts the box of a container into an exhibition space of 100 square meters free (in this case of 200), and a height in its central part of up to 5.5 meters.

The developed system also allows to join up to three UD 100, obtaining a space to accommodate exhibitions of up to 300 square meters.

In this case, the two UDS recreate the feel of the icy atmosphere of the Arctic with the help of music and sounds of this valuable part of the planet.

Thus, visitors will feel immersed in this remote and extraordinary place that is the Arctic.

A sophisticated hydraulic system of self-leveling controlled by a touch screen allows, in record time, that two technicians assume the tasks of deployment of the UD 100 from the complete opening of the cabin to the complete settlement in the field: one of them directs the movements and the other controls them, confirms or aborts before any unforeseen events.

The individualized system of anchoring to the ground allows in fact to correct unevenness of up to 3%.

Particular emphasis has been placed on the area of sustainability, specifically energy consumption, through double panels with air chamber, a concept that is diametrically opposed to the usual canvas used in tents.

The design of the roof, arranged in triangular form and with an adjustable hatch, also facilitates and in a controlled way the evacuation of the hot air accumulated in the upper zone.

Finally, a modern natural cooling system (free cooling) complements the optimization of the energy for the maintenance of the desired climate.

For illumination, the UD uses the LED system in the form of consumable foci and strips of low consumption.

With this new space, "la Caixa" Obra Social disseminates scientific, social and cultural knowledge to a wider audience.

These exhibitions, which travel through different towns and settle in spaces ceded by the municipalities, aim to reach the maximum possible number of people.
