Registration deadline for the Seminar of the Women of Ancient Rome (03/10/2017)

The seminar 'Women of Ancient Rome', which will take place at the Museum of the Roman Theater on 26 and 27 October, has already opened the registration deadline for all those interested in participating.

Those who want to occupy one of the 80 places available, must register by calling (968) 50 48 02 or by sending an email to fundacion @ teatroromanocartagena.

The eight-hour course will be held in the afternoon from 5.30 pm to 9.00 pm in the Museum's Auditorium.

Thus, the training will begin on Thursday, October 26, with the presentation of the conference, at 17:30.

The first of the talks, 'Women and leadership in primitive Christianity: the case of deaconesses', by the Roman University Professor of the University of the Basque Country, Rosa Menrxaka, who will follow the lecture of the professor in Roman Law of the University of Almeria, Rosalía Rodríguez, 'Beyond stigma: prostitution in Rome'.

Also on Thursday 26 the professor of Roman law at the University of Castilla La Mancha, Gema Polo, will expose 'The ages of women.

An approach to puberty 'and Professor of History of Art at the University of Murcia, Jaime Vizcaíno, will speak of' Not just jewelry: the feminine ornament in Rome '.

On Friday, October 27, the day will begin with the conference 'Women in the gallery: political activism in Rome' by the professor of Roman law at the University of Castilla-La Mancha, Alicia Valmaña.

Later, Professor of Roman Law at the University of Vigo, María José Bravo, will expose 'The Weak Sex?

Topics and weights for Roman women ';

the Roman law professor of the University of the Basque Country, Esperanza Osaba, will address 'Women and Slaves in Rome: the sanction of their love relationships' and the graduate in Fine Arts Julia Marin will speak on 'Song to Women and the Arts'.

The day ends with a guided tour of the exhibition 'Heryca.
