Guided tours and schedule expansion in Cartagena Puerto de Culturas and Museum of the Roman Theater in the Puente del Pilar (03/10/2017)

On the occasion of the Puente del Pilar, next week, the consortium Cartagena Puerto de Culturas and the Museum of the Roman Theater will intensify their programming with two routes guided by the most representative sites and museums of the city where aspects of the most monumental Roman city will be explained on the route 'Carthago Nova Imperial: Theaters and Temples', and where you will visit the medieval Cartagena in 'Asclepius: 2000 years of a hill'.

Thus, in Carthago Nova Imperial: Theaters and Temples, attendees will know the splendor of the Roman city of Carthago Nova, where they built the magnificent theater dedicated to the imperial family and the temple dedicated to the goddess Isis and the god Serapis, next to great thermal complexes decorated with paintings and mosaics and buildings of banquets of sacred character decorated with fantastic paintings.

The tour includes a visit to the Roman Theater Museum and the Forum Quarter.

The visit, which will start at the Museum, will take place on Thursday 12 and Saturday 14 at 11.30.

The price of these visits will be 10 euros for general public, 8 euros for the reduced entrance fee and 5 euros for members of the Cartagena Club Puerto de Culturas.

On the other hand, on October 13 and 15, also at 11.30 hours, the guided tour 'Asclepios, 2000 years of a hill' will take place in which, through the panoramic elevator, the visitor will reach the hill the highest in Cartagena, from which the urban and symbolic impact that has had from the antiquity to the present day will be revealed.

In this journey to the past whose heritage has survived to this day and which will begin in the Panoramic Lift, we will visit Castillo, to continue on a downward path towards the Church's façade, main identity elements of the medieval city, integrated in a route of great historical and scenic value, to reach the Roman Theater, where you will visit the stands and the different rooms of the museum.

The exit will be realized from the Panoramic Elevator and will include the Castle of the Conception and the Museum of the Roman Theater.

The price of the ticket to attend this guided tour is 10 euros the individual, 8 euros the reduced and 5 for members of the Club Cartagena Puerto de Culturas.

THE ROMAN THEATER EXPANDS HOURS DURING THE BRIDGE

In addition, the Roman Theater broadens its opening hours and days, so it will remain open on Thursday 12th, Hispanic Heritage Day, Friday and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday expands its schedule from 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. .

The visit lasts approximately 60 minutes and can be done by free, since the museum has a significant amount of explanatory resources such as panels, video, mockups and interactive, that allow the understanding of the pieces and elements exposed.

You can also visit with audioguide, which is available both at the reception and at the link http://www.teatroromanocartagena.org/audioguias.asp, from where you can download for the same rate as the rental of the device.

The audioguide is available in English, French and Spanish, and travels through the Museum halls to reach the Roman theater.

EXHIBITION HERYCA

In addition, visitors to the Museum of the Roman Theater can enjoy the exhibition 'Heryca.

Sirvs' tours of the ArtNostrum group, which is composed of artists who pays homage to the history of the city and its people.

The exhibition, which will be open to the public until October 29, this collection of 147 works in which the different artists offer their particular vision of the time of the Second Punic War in which they are set through disciplines such as painting , sculpture, photography or engraving and styles such as realism, expressionism, pop art or street art.
