Around 6,000 students start the course at the UPCT (18/09/2017)

About 6,000 students start classes today in the different campuses of the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPCT), specialized in engineering, architecture and business, the most popular degrees required by society

The UPCT opens next Friday, the 22nd, the deadline for pre-registration of their degree studies with free places in the June enrollment period.

Students can pre-register until September 29th.

More than half thousand first year students attend the Basic Course of the day of reception, which allows them to know the services of frequent use of the UPCT and those of their own centers.

The Schools of Industrial and Architecture and Engineering of Building have made a special presentation.

The director of the Technical School of Industrial Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, Patricio Franco, has welcomed the 300 new students who begin this course a degree in the ETSII and encouraged them to strive and get involved in the University.

Franco has assured that this course has increased the number of enrollments in the first and second phase, especially in the Degree in Industrial Technologies and Mechanical Engineering.

"We have students with very good grades in the EBAU," he said, recalling also that on September 22, the registration deadline for September students is reopened and that there is still the possibility of enrolling in one of the grades offered by the School.

He also introduced the young people to the management team, explained that they can also participate in associations or in the competition teams of the University and that the School, dating from 1901, is one of the oldest in Spain.

"We have a long tradition and prestige and that we have to take advantage of it," he added.

On the other hand, in Architecture and Building the young people have been able to 'give a walk by the city but with the glasses of the activist Jane Jacobs'.

More than fifty students of the first year of the Technical School of Architecture and Engineering of Construction (ETSAE) of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) have been released in the University fostering their critical thinking.

For the first time, the School has invited the new students to accompany Professor Patricia Reus on a tour to promote the critical spirit and their vision of the architecture that surrounds the educational institution.

Previously, the director of the Carlos Parra School explained to the young people what their career will consist of, as well as the university services and the different departments and teachers that make up the School.

The Cartagena Polytechnic teaches this course fifteen degree degrees.

The offer is completed with more than twenty official masters and degrees in Engineering, Architecture and Business Management.

This year, the university master's degree can be taken online for social economy entities, which is expected to be implemented after approval by the Interuniversity Council this week.

Also included in the UPCT offer is the university master's degree in Decision Support Techniques, which will be taught in a semi-private mode at the University Center for Defense of San Javier, attached to the UPCT.
