The City Council of Cartagena, through the Department of Tourism, works together with the Autonomous Community for the installation of an antenna that provides mobile coverage to the beaches of the Regional Park Calblanque, Mount of Ashes and Peña del Águila.

In addition to this, a project has been presented in the Water Directorate to bring the water to Cobaticas and also the road arrangement between La Jordana and Cobaticas is being managed.

This was announced by the Councilor for Tourism, Obdulia Gómez, in the visit he made this morning to the area along with the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment, Javier Celdrán.

The mayor has advanced that the project of the telephone antenna has just obtained the approval of the Directorate General of the Natural Environment, reason why "for the coming year" already expects that the surroundings of Calblanque can "count on coverage in the beaches ".

The councilor and the counselor have revealed the figures that have left the summer campaign in this natural space, which shows a positive balance.

Between June 24 and September 10, the access control system for the beaches of the Regional Park of Calblanque, Monte de las Cenizas and Peña del Águila has served a total of 50,363 people through the bus 'Calblanque 4.40' , which is 10% more than last year.

The bonus of 10 round trips, which was created for this campaign in response to user requests, has been used by 8% of visitors.

The tourists and bathers who came this summer to the area were 45% from other communities, while 30% came from foreign countries.

Access control and the bus service have prevented the circulation of 16,677 vehicles inside the park.

"From the City of Cartagena we are very satisfied with the results of the influx," said the mayor of Tourism, who recalled that the City of Cartagena has enabled a parking in Los Belones of about 6,000 square meters with capacity for 400 cars, which is signposted at the exit of the highway, and also has chemical toilets and bins.

"From the beginning of this project we put all the means we had for the service," he said.

Javier Celdrán, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment, has announced that the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia will extend the service to Calnegre, due to the good acceptance of this system and associated services. good result of this initiative in Calblanque.

In relation to the restrictions on the traffic of vehicles to the beaches, Obdulia Gómez has called for "the enjoyment of all without the deterioration of this park wonder."

The regidora understands that "at the same time that it can be enjoyed, it contributes to conservation", which helps to reconcile leisure with respect to these natural spaces.

"The tourism product of nature tourism is increasingly booming and this is a means to promote it and at the same time educate the people who do this activity," he stressed.
