The third edition of Cartagena Negra begins. The Mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, inaugurated the Days of Black Literature, Police and Mystery to be held in the city until Saturday 9 September (06/09/2017)

The Mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, inaugurated this Tuesday in the Municipal Auditorium and Conference Center of El Batel the III Edition of the Black Literature, Police and Mystery 'Cartagena Negra', which will be held until Saturday 9 September, in an event also attended by the councilman delegate of Culture, David Martinez.

In addition, the inauguration of the festival counted this with the presence of Esteban Navarro, police and writer of first line at national level.

The program continues today with the children's activity 'Menudos detectives menudos' at the bookstore Santos-Ochoa (calle del Carmen 27) at 11:30 am, the black snack with Xabier Gutierrez at the restaurant El Vinagrillo (Canales street, 20) at 13:30, the meeting of Xabier Gutiérrez and María Oruña with reading clubs in El Batel from 17:30 to 19:30 hours, the presentation of the book 'Flor seca', by Graziella Moreno, in the bookstore Santos-Ochoa (Calle del Carmen, 27) from 18:00 onwards, the projection of one of the short finalists of the Black Short Film Competition and the subsequent roundtable with Xabier Gutiérrez, Graziella Moreno and María Oruña in El Batel 19:00 and 19:15 hours respectively and finally to close the day, 'De cañas negras' in Mr. Witt Café (Calle San Roque), where from 21:00 hours these three authors will sign copies and will have a relaxed meeting with the attendees.

Cartagena Negra presents in this edition several novelties, among which stand out the I Prize of Black Novel Cartagena or the edition of the Anthology of Reports Black Cartagena.

Also this year the presence of law enforcement, the treatment of evil and the black genre produced next to the Mediterranean will be the three main thematic lines around which will turn the festival that has already made a place of renown in the panorama national.

A total of 30 authors from all points of the national geography, such as Tenerife, Galicia, San Sebastián, Bilbao or Castellón, will visit Cartagena and participate in the numerous activities programmed as book presentations, writing workshops or round tables , among other.

There will also be space for music and the world of comics or for the audiovisual in the form of short films.

It will also seek a greater involvement of the public by organizing activities as attractive as possible as a Workshop of Writing Police provided by the writer Clara Peñalver, the Contest of Black Microrrelates live 'Leave here your hat', whose requirement is essential to being able to participate will consist of attending this complement, and that has a prize for the winner of a dinner for two people and a hotel night in Los Habaneros - or 'Menudos detectives menudos', designed for the little ones.

Also will be relevant the nine meetings of reading clubs, the 'Black Appetizers'.

But if something will stand out especially in this edition is undoubtedly the First Prize of Novel Cartagena Negra, whose first winner has been Rafa Melero with his book 'Ful', leaving as finalists Rosa Rivas and Sabine Hofman;

Aro Sáinz de la Maza;

Vicente Garrido and Nieves Abarca;

and Santiago Álvarez.

It should be noted that this award is delivered ex officio by the festival organization, that is, the jury chooses various novels released that year and values ​​them without the need for anyone to submit a candidacy.

The delivery will be made at the closing session of this third edition of 'Cartagena Negra', to be held on 9 September at 9:00 pm in the cafeteria Mr. Witt and, although not associated with an economic endowment, from the Event organization has remained that will be a great surprise.

On the other hand is the edition of the Anthology of Stories Cartagena Negra, which includes 23 texts by authors of national scope and a sample of regional authors who have been going through the festival on previous occasions.

Its cost will be 10 euros.

All scheduled activities and meetings are free except for the Police Writing Workshop which will be given by Clara Peñalver (which will cost 30 euros) and the activity 'Menudos detectives menudos', for which it will be necessary to pay 3 euros and the children will receive a gift.
