The Auditorium and Congress Center El Batel will host on September 9, at 9:00 pm, the presentation concert in Cartagena of the new album by guitarist and composer Carlos Piñana, 'Rubato.

Suite for Flamenco Guitar and Symphonic Orchestra ', accompanied by members of the Symphony Orchestra of the Region of Murcia (OSRM), which will be directed this time by the master César Álvarez.

The action will be free entry to full capacity and is organized by the Port Authority of Cartagena, with the collaboration of the Autonomous Community.

The regional government spokeswoman, Noelia Arroyo, presented the concert with the president of the Port Authority, Antonio Sevilla;

the guitarist Carlos Piñana and the director of the concert, César Álvarez, and congratulated the guitarist Cartagena as well as the members of the OSRM and the director and the authors of the composition to promote the music that is made in the region.

"Carlos Piñana is a benchmark in all senses of our art, not only because he comes from a long and good line of flamenco musicians, but also because he has been able to add to the natural talent, to the inheritance received, an extensive musical education," he said. .

"This time, in addition, has had the collaboration of the Symphony Orchestra of the Region of Murcia, one of the most important musical groups in Spain, in a symbiosis of two different musical styles, but which complement each other perfectly."

The avant-garde flamenco of Piñana and classical music go hand in hand to offer the public a concert that will join the guitarist with the Symphony Orchestra of the Region of Murcia;

Miguel Ángel Orengo (percussion);

Agustín Garnés and Cristóbal Muñoz (palms);

Sara Zamora (voice) and director César Alvarez.

They will interpret a program integrated by nine movements that will cross the different flamenco sticks and that was recorded last year in the Regional Auditorium Víctor Villegas, where also was presented in June.

The counselor recalled that Piñana "is one of our great creators, always ready to innovate and surprise with his flamenco avant-garde" and highlighted this new work, which includes the suite for flamenco guitar and orchestra composed by Piñana himself and Pedro Contreras , and that has the percusionista Miguel Angel Orengo like invited artist.

Carlos Piñana offers an innovative and personal approach in the musical language of flamenco.

This album comes as a result of a series of musical experiences over the last eight years.

The contact with musicians from different fields such as jazz, blues and classical music has allowed him to configure an artistic personality that starts from traditional flamenco to new musical trends, all supported by a virtuosity born of the union between the technique of flamenco guitar and classical guitar.

The fusion of flamenco and classical music is not a novelty and Piñana and the regional Symphony have already demonstrated on several occasions the great complicity they achieve in the stage and the universality of music beyond the styles and instruments.

Specifically, the guitarist and the OSRM presented the work of the cartagenero 'The care of an essence' by some of the most representative scenarios of the Region, such as the Song of the Mine Festival of 2015. Also, at the beginning of last year , Piñana was accompanied by members of the OSRM to present his album 'From the root to the soul'.

The spokeswoman stressed "the versatility of the Symphony Orchestra of the Region, a training of great quality that has played alongside the best directors and soloists of classical music."

The Murcian formation, always open to new experiences, has collaborated with performers of different styles such as Noa, Armando Manzanero, Gregory Porter, Joan Manuel Serrat or Vicente Amigo, as well as bands and singers of the indie-pop scene as Vetusta Morla, These New Puritan and Santiago Auserón, whom he also accompanied on his latest album.
