Black Cartagena (30/08/2017)

Next Tuesday, September 5, will be presented the anthology of black, police and mystery stories Cartagena Negra, which contains texts of twenty-three writers, selected by Antonio Parra Sanz.

The event, which will begin at 19.30 hours, will be held at the El Batel Auditorium in Cartagena, located on the Paseo de Alfonso XII, and will form part of the program of the III Literary Conference Cartagena Black Festival.

The book will be presented by Francisco Marín Pérez, author of the prologue and Content Director of Cartagena Negra, Antonio Parra Sanz, responsible for the selection, and Fernando Fernández Villa, editor of La Fea Bourgeoisie.

Cartagena Negra is formed by twenty-three black genre stories.

Prolonged by literary critic Francisco Marín, the authors are Nieves Abarca, Santiago Alvarez, Ana Ballabriga, Claudio Cerdán, Estela Chocarro, Pablo de Aguilar, Empar Fernández, Rafael Guerrero, Alfonso Gutierrez, David Jimenez "El Tito", Joaquín Llorens, Paco López Mengual, Pedro Martí, Victor Mirete, Graziella Moreno, Manuel Moyano, Antonio Parra Sanz, Mónica Rouanet, Ginés Sánchez, Juan Soto Ivars, Cristóbal Terrer, Rubén F. Uceda and Jesús Zaplana.

In the prologue, Francisco Marín says that "when we set out to do this anthology we acquire the great responsibility to help Cartagena, with its days of black and police literature, consolidate itself as a national referent in the black genre festivals held in Spain Inviting the authors to take part in this work was a way of giving back some of what they gave us with their visits in the first two editions.All accepted the challenge of placing a black plot in the port city, and All responded with an extreme generosity, with the magnificent result of which we can now enjoy.

Along these pages we walk through Cartagena and its surroundings, from Cabo de Palos to El Albujón passing through Lo Campano, we cross a fundamental axis, as it is the one of the street of the Carmen, Door of Murcia, Main street, square Héroes de Cavite And Port.

In each of these streets palpitate impressive stories, not to mention the street Jabonerías, or the Hotel Los Habaneros, where we rest after refreshing our parched throats in Mister Witt Café.

We hope the reader will enjoy as much as we do this dark and mysterious journey through the streets of the triennial city. "
