The plot of the show tells the story of Mrs. C, an aristocrat who has just widowed and who watches in the Monte Carlo casino a young player who loses all his money in roulette that night.
Desperate, the young man leaves the casino and she, after following him, manages to avoid his suicide.
Compassionate, he offers to pay for his lodging that night and give him an amount so that he leaves Montecarlo the next day and can pay off his debts.
When arriving at the hotel, the young man desperately clings to that woman whom he considers his savior and Mrs. C., shocked and in the fear that the youngster tries again to commit suicide, decides not to separate from him during the next 24 hours.
