The Roman Theater Museum of Cartagena expands its days and opening hours during the bridge of August (11/08/2017)

The Museum of the Roman Theater of Cartagena, whose patronage is integrated by the Community, the City Council and the Cajamurcia Foundation, expands its schedule and will open on Monday, August 14, to mark the August Bridge.

Sunday will open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (3 hours more than usual), while on Monday and Tuesday, Assumption of the Virgin, the schedule will be from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The center has become a cultural and tourist reference of the Region, both for the recognition received at the national and European level as well as for the number of visitors it receives, and it is the most frequented museum in the Region.

Since its opening in July 2008, more than 1,430,000 people have visited it.

Those who come these days to the center of Cartagena, in addition to the traditional visit, can enjoy the temporary exhibition 'Cantica Canticorum', Valle de Aybar, which enters the visitor in the world of paper and calligraphy.

Likewise, the exhibition 'Photographica Ovidiana' by Joaquín Bérchez remains open, a project that recreates, from the photographic fiction, the current scenarios and the emotional landscape of Ovid's exile.

Routes and thematic visits

The Roman Theater Museum also increases its activity next week with several routes and thematic visits, carried out in collaboration with Cartagena Puerto de Culturas.

These will begin on Tuesday (11:00 am), with the guided tour 'Carthago Nova, the City of the Gods', which will run from the Roman Theater to the Roman Forum and Augusteum.

On Wednesday the family activity 'Theatrum: A theater tomorrow' (6:30 p.m.) is offered, where the participants will learn about Roman society through theater (they will discover the great buildings of shows in the Roman Empire, the works Who were represented and who acted in them), religion and politics.

On Thursday will take place the guided tour 'Citizens of an Empire', will start in the Museum of the Roman Theater and continue through the Roman Forum and Roman House of Fortune.

On Friday the route 'From Qart Hadast to Carthago Nova' will start on the Punic Wall, which raised Asdrúbal Barca and conquered Publius Cornelius Scipio, and guide the visitor to Carthago Nova, in addition, includes a tour of daily life with a visit to the house Fortuna and the Roman Theater.
