Last Friday, June 16, was held, on the occasion of the Program 'Senior Hiking', a day of coexistence in the Polideportivo de Molino Derribao in which a hundred people participated and in which some prizes were delivered and closed, Which has been a success.
The event was attended by the councilor delegate of Social Services and Social Mediation, Carmen Martín del Amor, the coordinator of the same council, Damián Pérez Olmos, and the head of the Unit for Attention to Seniors and People with Disabilities, Leoncio Sánchez Monreal.
The Senior Hiking Program is a framed action within the Unit of Attention to Older Persons and Persons with Disabilities, belonging to the Department of Social Services of the City of Cartagena, where this year there have been 220 people enrolled.
During the day, there were various activities such as a meal, a baking contest, musical performances, surprise raffles, dance, projections on the activities carried out during the course or various games of animation among others, the Councilor for Social Services and Social Mediation encouraged participants to remain so active the next course, for which new and interesting routes are already being planned.
It was a pleasant day in which the fellowship and collaboration of the participants reigned.
Some of the activities developed throughout the year have been: Ruta Morisca de Ricote, visit to the Mazarron Mines, climb and return to the grinder, pro-help route Hospitality of Santa Teresa, Route of the Nativity, excursion to Sierra Espuña.
Also noteworthy for his great success is El Camino del Apóstol (Cartagena - Caravaca).
Also worthy of note is the great success of this Senior Hiking Program as well as the enthusiasm and devotion with which the participants, step by step, have become involved in each of the activities.
