The deputy of the Socialist Parliamentary Group Ángel Rafael Martínez has submitted a motion in which he asks the regional government to include in the next budgets of the Autonomous Community a budget line for the elaboration of a comprehensive remodeling project for the Isaac Peral Institute of Cartagena .

The socialist deputy explained that the Isaac Peral Institute of Cartagena was inaugurated in 1968 and "is in a painful state of conservation, having facilities that have practically not been touched since it was inaugurated."

Through this center have passed, passed and will continue to pass thousands of students, being one of the largest institutes in the municipality of Cartagena.

Among the facilities that need improvement are the auditorium, historical archives, cinema projection room, hallway walls, the wall separating it from the Rosell hospital.

In this case, the socialist deputy said that, apparently, the Ministry has already sent a company to assess their status and urged that this arrangement be made, given the risk of collapse with the consequent danger to people.

Also, other rooms and elements that need to be fixed are the wall of the independent gallery, which shows a great crack, stairs access to the sports area, many of the windows, gym and the former house of the concierge.

Martinez Lorente added that there is also the need for additional spaces for classrooms and rooms for teachers, because currently, they are getting to teach in the meeting room of teachers.

The socialist deputy considers that "the Isaac Peral Institute does not deserve new patches but a comprehensive remodeling that ends once and for all with its decadent situation."
