Cs Cartagena denounces abandonment and requests urgent measures for the hamlet of La Mina in the council of El Albujón (05/06/2017)

- One of the issues most demanded by the neighbors is the lack of road safety in the area;

The road that crosses this population supports a high volume of vehicles that, according to the neighbors, circulate at high speed, and also has a constant traffic of pedestrians, especially older people.

- The neighbors also complain about the lack of cleanliness, the state of abandonment of the square Virgen del Rosario, dirty and unpunished, and the lack of lighting in the Plaza de la Iglesia and in some points of this population.

Cartagena, Monday, June 5.

The Citizen spokesman in Cartagena, Manuel Padin, today visited, together with the vocal José Francisco García, the hamlet of La Mina in the cartagenera deputation of El Albujón.

The residents of this area have for years tried, without result, that the City Council heed their claims and requests.

One of the issues most demanded by the neighbors is the need to provide more road safety in the area;

The road that crosses this population supports a high volume of vehicles that, according to the neighbors, circulate at high speed, and also has a constant traffic of pedestrians, especially older people.

This bumpy section lacks speed reducers, and interior shoulders;

The exteriors are full of undergrowth, there are missing pedestrian crossings, some traffic signs have disappeared and a signaling mirror that existed in one the crosses that give way to the Nuestra Señora del Rosario Church is broken and abandoned in a ditch.

Neighbors also complain about the lack of cleanliness, the abandonment of the Virgen del Rosario square, dirty and unpunished, and poor lighting, (the focus that illuminated the Church was removed months ago without being replaced).

In addition, they claim that bus line 14 extends its route to La Mina since the neighbors, some with mobility problems, have to move to Las Lomas del Albujón, with the consequent danger of driving on a road in such a bad state.

The inhabitants of La Mina have been sending, since February 2016, written to the City Council to account for their needs but have not received a reply, except for a recent phone call.

Nor have they been received by the Councilor of Festivities to get some help preparing their October parties.

Citizens' spokesman, Manuel Padín, wanted to thank the neighbors of the area for their kind welcome and committed to bring all their demands to the responsible councilors, "small towns have as many rights and obligations as any other area of the city. Municipal term of Cartagena, and if we do not get answers and solutions, we will have to raise the corresponding legislative proposal to the Plenum of the Neighborhood Council. "

Regarding the road that runs through La Mina, Manuel Padín has reported that "we have some doubts with the ownership of this route, but as soon as we have the information we will send to the owner management the appropriate demand for conditioning."
