About 500 nursing professionals meet in Cartagena to talk about bioethics (30/05/2017)

The Auditorium and Congress Center El Batel will host from Wednesday May 31 until Friday, June 2, XXVIII National Congress of Nursing Care Technicians and Technicians in Sanitary Emergencies.

The opening ceremony of these conferences will take place at 9:30 am and will be attended by the mayor of Cartagena, José López and the Minister of Health of the Autonomous Community, Manuel Villegas among others.

Bioethics will be the main theme around which presentations and talks of this conference organized by the Foundation for Training and Advancement of Nursing (FAE), and which will be attended by around 500 nursing professionals and the assistance of Health emergencies.

Throughout the three days of the congress, different topics will be considered from the point of view of bioethics such as: ethics of care, clinical trials with medications, immobilization of patients, abortion or treatment waiver Of the patient, among others.

A total of 35 papers will be given on subjects of interest to participants.

BIOETHICS

According to the President of the Congress, Rosa Romera, in the presentation text of the conference, the unstoppable advance of science, technology and society as a whole have put unhealthy techniques and professional skills available to health care A few years, which also involve ethical dilemmas that affect all areas of health work, at all levels and at all levels.

Throughout life, from the moment of gestation, the maintenance of this, the treatments to which a patient is subjected, the concept of death, the ability to rationally make difficult decisions are, among many others, subjects To bioethical approaches in which to assert the basic principles of autonomy, justice, beneficence and non-maleficence.

Medical professionals face ethical dilemmas in a research or clinical trial, but also in the face of a particular decision for a particular patient.

In short, bioethics permeates all health decisions, rights and obligations that affect health professionals or those that directly affect patients.

It is not only a code of rights and obligations, but an indispensable tool that makes it possible to help our fellow human beings to act as a person on the basis of laws and the development of the health sciences.

The more powerful, effective and advanced medicine becomes, the greater the challenges to bioethics and the more rigorous, the better known and defined the standards of protection of individuals.

THE FOUNDATION FOR THE TRAINING AND ADVANCE OF NURSING

Among the founding objectives of the FAE is the creation of a forum for scientific exchange, in which any health professional who engages in dissemination tasks, new assistance techniques and work can meet.

To this end, this national congress of a scientific nature is organized annually, in which there are experts in Nursing Care throughout the Spanish territory, counting on the participation of other experts of national and international renown in the health field.

Throughout the twenty-four editions that have been held, the Congress has become the ideal forum to deal with different monographic issues of great professional interest and social relevance: Alzheimer's, Home Hospitalization, Transplants, Oncology Care, Neurological Patient Care, etc.
