The Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena is the University of the Region that obtains the most funds in competitive grants per teacher, according to the report 'Research and Knowledge Transfer in Spanish Universities 2015' that has just published the CRUE (Conference of Rectors of Universities Spanish).
The UPCT also ranks first in other areas, including: research projects, R & D contracts, collaborative R & D & I with companies and Administration, national priority patents and scientific publications In impact magazines.
According to the report, the Polytechnic has raised € 8,539 per PDI (Teaching Staff and Researcher) in competitive calls, which are chosen by all Spanish universities.
Within this chapter, it also ranks at the regional level in the amount achieved to develop research projects, with € 5,753 per PDI.
In other variables analyzed by CRUE, such as the amount of R & D + i contracting, the UPCT also ranks first with a contracted value per teacher of € 3,133.
In the chapter on national patents, UPCT researchers have achieved 7 in 2015. Regarding the subsidies received competitively, for Human Resources that perform research support tasks, such as the Ramón y Cajal and CARM scholarships, The Polytechnic has achieved € 2,270 per PDI.
