To make it known, they have developed a play aimed at primary school students at CEIP Mediterráneo, and a kitchen workshop aimed at adults, in which they have learned how to cook tartar

Publicizing the social, environmental, cultural and gastronomic value of artisanal fishery caught on our coasts and promoting its consumption has been the objective of the 'Pescados con Arte' initiative organized by the City of Cartagena and the Columbares Association, And that he has had great success of participation and welcome.

Through a children's play and an adult cooking workshop, an effort has been made to give visibility to fishermen, to involve the local population in the conservation of marine biodiversity and to sensitize it to the role of marine reserves.

This month the protagonism has corresponded to lamelva (Auxis spp), a small tuna that reaches the Mediterranean Sea in the warm months to reproduce.

The file of this species can be downloaded for free on the Columbares Association website.

In the development of the activities, the participants have also been able to approach the techniques of the fishermen to capture them in an artisan way: with gillnets, longlines, morunas and traps.

Yesterday Sunday, a kitchen workshop was held, in which the adults learned to cook melt tartar based on wakamide by the hand of chef Dani Cordero, in the restaurant La Catedral (Plaza Condesa de Peralta, 7 Cartagena), with melva contributed by The Cofradía de Pescadores de Cartagena, as well as learning the benefits of artisanal fishing and marine reserves of fishing interest.

The youngest could also learn through the theater.

In particular, the primary students of CEIP Mediterráneo discovered this and other species of season, through a representation.

In the play, a fishmonger and three of his clients interacted with each other and with the children to convey, in a fun way, recommendations for a more responsible consumption of fish.
