MC regrets that the PP tries to make up its policies harmful to the Region (23/05/2017)

MC denounces that the PP has made in the last days a totally empty announcement of content, that can only be explained from a desperate attempt to cover the new grievances towards Cartagena and its Region designed by its centralist policies.

The PP says now that "it bets to shield Cartagena as legislative capital".

It is worth recalling at this point that popular policy makers that Law 5/2005, of June 20, for the application of Law 57/2003, of December 16, of measures for the modernization of local government to the city of Cartagena , Reads verbatim that "Cartagena is, by decision of the drafters of the Statute of Autonomy of the Region of Murcia, the legislative capital of the Region."

The president and spokesman of MC, Jesus Giménez, has denounced that "once again it is a question of curbing the desires of progress of the society of Cartagena and Region, and avoiding the true debate that deserves the reform of the Statute of Autonomy."

The popular parliamentary speaker also expressed support for the '2es +' platform to go to the Regional Assembly, which has caused Giménez to remind the PP "that is to listen not to the platform, but to the reasons that have been exposed for years And to introduce into the protocol of the Autonomy Statute the creation of the second province of the Autonomous Community. "

This announcement of the PP "constitutes a new attempt to deceive the public," and comes in a context in which "even the CROEM said last week that the low weight of the Region has a negative effect on its development and is the cause Of the deficiencies that it suffers ".

In addition, "yesterday we met that a dozen municipalities of the Region were relegated in the search of European funds for the urban revitalization of degraded areas, while the Ministry of Finance confirmed that the municipality of Murcia will receive 14 million euros."

For this reason, Giménez concluded by stating that "Cartagena does not need to accumulate recognition, it already has them, but we demand that politicians offer solutions from the administrations to Cartagena, the Region and the Region."
