The Patrimony Advisory Council will raise proposals to the PGOU table for the protection of the BIC of the municipality (12/05/2017)

The councilman of the area of ​​Culture and Heritage, Ricardo Segado, presided yesterday in the Molina Palace, the meeting of the Heritage Advisory Council, where it was agreed to set up working groups working on proposals aimed at the protection of patrimonial protected elements Of the municipality that will be elevated to the table of the General Plan of Urban Planning (PGOU).

This working forum is also composed of the municipal coordinator of Historical and Archaeological Heritage, Mª Carmen Berrocal, and representatives and experts from various groups related to the subject.

During the meeting, it was also approved the appointment of two representatives of the Heritage Advisory Council at the PGOU table, a task that was unanimously decided by Mari Carmen Berrocal and José Antonio Rodríguez.

In this sense, it was also decided to create working groups that catalog and value each type of asset.

In short, and with regard to the work of the Heritage Advisory Council in relation to the PGOU table, it should raise proposals to prevent the protected elements (BIC) from deteriorating.

These proposals will be presented at a forthcoming meeting in June.

MUNICIPAL NEWS OF THE HISTORICAL AND ARCHAEOLOGICAL HERITAGE

In another order of things, the meeting dealt with matters related to the current situation in the area of ​​Historic and Archaeological Heritage.

In this way, it was informed about the Campus of Archeology that will be developed between the 2 and the 30 of July.

The same one, presented last Tuesday by the mayor, José López, aims to deepen the heritage wealth of this deposit, as well as serve as practices for sixty university students.

Other issues included the construction of a plaza in Monte Sacro, cleaning in Despeñaperros, the signing of an agreement with AFORCA (Association of Veteran Friends of the Carthaginian Castles, Their Strengths, Walls and Old Towers), the placement Of informative posters in diverse points of interest or the advances in the Roman Amphitheater and the Place of the Favor.

Finally, a questionnaire was opened among those attending the meeting, which proposed, among other issues, the realization in autumn of a conference of Heritage in Cartagena and the recovery of the original paths of the hermitage of Mount Miral.

PLUMBER OF ACTIONS BETWEEN MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT, COLLECTIVE AND CITIZENS

After the meeting, Ricardo Segado stressed that the Heritage Advisory Council should be "the conduit of actions between the municipal government, the groups related to heritage and citizens."

Likewise, the mayor explained the importance of the issues discussed in the first session of this body, and noted that "we will continue working together to conserve and revalue the immense historical and archaeological heritage that we have in the municipality of Cartagena."
