Citizens Cartagena celebrates that the municipal plenary backs its five motions (27/04/2017)

The Municipal Citizens Group has presented up to nine initiatives in the municipal plenary today, and has obtained the approval of its five motions.

Cartagena will be part of the Association of Parks and Public Gardens

Cs Cartagena has obtained the support of the municipal council so that the City Council adheres to the Spanish Association of Parks and Public Gardens (AEPJP) which, along with other entities, has published a decalogue of 'Park 10', with rules on facilities and furniture In these public spaces.

The motion, according to the Citizens spokesman in Cartagena, Manuel Padín, serves to "continue to alert the state of abandonment of many children's parks in Cartagena, but also to ensure that Cartagena benefits from the guidelines and advice for the design and maintenance it offers The network in these environments that must be in perfect conditions of safety and healthiness for the use of the smallest.

The City will control unauthorized agricultural burning

The orange formation has submitted a motion, approved by all municipal groups except for the Popular Party, so that the municipal government adopts, within the framework of its powers, the necessary prevention and protection measures for the population affected by the agricultural fires in Cartagena, especially to the areas that have recently suffered these incidents in Isla Plana and La Azohía, and to study and promote the use of alternative techniques to the burning for the management of this waste, such as the placement of storage containers in strategic places .

On the other hand, the Citizens' Group has also requested that the Ministry of Water, Agriculture and Environment be urged to tighten the requirements for the granting of permits for the burning and treatment of agricultural residues and to develop a new authorization model Which includes a code of good practice.

The Plenary has also endorsed the initiative of Citizens to raise to the Municipal Council of Commerce the proposal that Cartagena prepare its candidacy to be "Spanish Capital of Gastronomy" in the next edition.

Commission for the Execution of Plenum Agreements

The Council of Citizens have once again asked in plenary when the local Government intends to convene the first operational session of the Commission for Execution of Plenary Agreements.
