The Rosell Hospital Follow-up Commission concludes the need to recover lost services (05/04/2017)

The Councilor for Health, Francisco Calderón, participated this morning in the meeting of the Monitoring Commission of the Hospital of Our Lady of Rosell that has been held in the Hospital of St. Lucia.

Members of the municipalities of La Unión, Fuente Álamo and Mazarrón, as well as Health Area Manager II, José Sedes, the different heads of service of management, and representatives of the Federation of Neighborhood Associations of Cartagena and Its Region.

During the meeting, a report was taken of the actions taken in relation to compliance with Law 3/2016, of March 21, for the full functioning of the Santa Maria del Rosell Hospital as a general hospital.

In the same way, the regional administration has transmitted the forecast of expenses for the present year that should translate into an increase of the services.

On the other hand, the lack of certain services, such as the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), psychiatry plant, etc., has become evident.

These circumstances conclude the need to bet on two complementary hospitals in the area of ​​Health II, for which a considerable budget allocation by CARM is required.

It should be remembered that the Health II area serves 267,243 primers, with seventeen basic health areas, 16 health centers and 45 medical clinics.

HEALTH AREA COUNCIL II

The Monitoring Commission of the Hospital of Our Lady of the Rosell emanates from the Health Council of Area II, which was constituted last November.

The council is chaired by Area II manager, José Sedes.

It counts on the participation of the municipalities of Cartagena, La Unión, Fuente Álamo and Mazarrón;

Trade union and business representatives;

Patient and patient associations;

Neighborhood associations;

volunteering;

Citizen entities such as the Platform in Defense of Public Health;

Professional colleges;

Scientific societies, etc.

The council was born with the intention of becoming a vehicle for channeling and discussing proposals, while being a tool for monitoring the different integrated services in public health care.

In this way, with the creation of the Health Council, compliance with an obligation contained in Law 4/1994, of July 26, on Health of the Region was fulfilled.
