Maria Buigues shows her vision of the Seven West Gods (05/04/2017)

María Buigues will inaugurate this Thursday, April 6, the exhibition 'The Seven Gods of the West', a collection of portraits inspired by the protagonists of the series 'Game of Thrones' made by different pictorial techniques such as acrylic on paper and wood or pencil on paper .

The event, to be held in the Room Subjective of the Palace Hall at 20:00 hours, will be attended by the mayor of the city, José López.

The collection will be exhibited from the same day until May 21 and can be visited from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

In the afternoons it will be open from Tuesday to Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and until 8 p.m. on Saturday.

On Sunday afternoons and Mondays it will be closed.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

María del Pilar Martínez Collado, with an artistic name María Buigues, is a young 15-year-old from Cartagena who opens her first exhibition.

He studies ESO's fourth in the IES Jiménez de la Espada and has already achieved several awards in different disciplines.

The self-taught artist shows her interest in art from an early age.

His first drawings already emphasized by the theme that he chose to express himself, they used to be religious and with great emotional load in his strokes.

The portrait, the human figure and the transmission of feelings were always present.

He also uses writing as a means of expression, participating in different literary contests and being awarded some of his stories, such as "A beautiful garden", second prize in the XXIII Regional Contest of Children and Youth Literature 'Encarnación Martínez Barberán'; Journal 'and' Forgotten Memories, awarded in competitions of Literature of IES Jiménez de la Espada, where he is currently studying.

His great references in painting and sculpture are Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo and Caravaggio, which leads him to recreate some work like 'La Piedad'.

In this exhibition, made up of works done in different techniques, both portraits and recreations of transcendental scenes from the series 'Game of Thrones', the artist wants to express with her work not only its pictorial aspect, but also the values ​​and reflections that harbor Such scenes.

He uses the play of lights and shadows as creator of volumes and depth, to add to the action effects of drama and tenebrism.
